By faith, Abram left his homeland in Ur of Chaldees on his way to the land of Canaan. While he took an uncommanded pit stop in Haran for a bit, he eventually pressed into Canaan. On this journey, we see in Heb. 11, that Abraham was looking for something better than the city that he came out of, and he desired a better country, a heavenly country that he sought by following God in faith.
