The Just Shall Live By Faith

Much of the New Testament focuses on an admonition for God’s people, the just, to live by faith. We consider an overview of the book of Habakkuk, where the original verse is quoted from, where the prophet was called to walk by faith even in a culture that was ungodly and would quickly descend into Babylonian captivity. We are called to live by faith, even when the circumstances around us don’t make sense, even if we are perplexed, we trust God with all our heart when we can’t see how the Lord is working around us.

What God Sanctifies

We consider the distinction between what God sanctifies and then our admonition to sanctify ourselves and our lives in service to the Lord. God’s children have been set apart for a holy use, and they can never lose their state of being sanctified in an eternal sense in Christ. Then, because we have already been set apart in Christ, we ought to live a life that is set apart from the world.

Behold, What Manner of Love!

Elder Calvin Warren reminds us of the vital importance of the love of God. We should tell the Lord regularly how much we love him. We need to meditate on the great love wherewith he loved us, which passeth knowledge. We need to have our hearts knit together in love, and show love to each other, and by loving God’s people we show love unto our Beloved Father.

Little Faith

In the struggle of faith for God’s children, we oftentimes struggle with little faith, just like Jesus’ disciples in their lives. Doubt can grow and creep up and diminish our faith to where it might end up much smaller than it should be. I hope we can grow to push through little faith and our faith to grow stronger and stronger in service to the Lord.

Seeing the Wagons

Jacob lived under the sorrow and misery of believing a lie of Joseph’s death for 22 years. When he found out Joseph was actually alive, he didn’t believe it and his heart fainted. Then, when he saw the wagons, his heart actually revived. The difference between a fainting heart and a revived heart was belief in the validity of the good news report that Joseph was alive.

Book of Ephesians

From June 2024 to August 2025, Pastor David preached through the Book of Ephesians. In Ephesians, the Lord gave us the perfect balance of doctrine and practice. Based on all the spiritual blessings we have in Christ, and God electing, predestinating, redeeming, and regenerating his people, therefore – based on all that God has done for you – we ought to strive to walk worthy of our calling in godly living, in our marriages, in our families, and in every manner of life to honor the Lord that has saved us by his grace.

Prayers for Utterance of the Gospel

Prayer is the final, seventh component of the armor of God, and our lifeline to heaven to call for reinforcements from the captain of our salvation. Principally, Paul exhorts us to pray for the ministry and to pray for the advancement and growth of God’s kingdom. The kingdom of God should be at the forefront of our prayers, as we pray for God to grow his kingdom, according to his will.

Rags to Riches

Everyone loves a rags to riches story. We consider some real life stories of great wealth that came to people unexpectedly. However, the greater lesson is the rags to riches story of God’s untold riches graciously bestowed unto his people. God has freely given an amazing inheritance which we did not deserve, or even know about for a long period of time.

Put on the Whole Armor of God

In our warfare against the wiles of the devil, it is vitally important that we put on the whole armor of God to protect us against Satan’s attacks. We consider together the 7 pieces of the armor of God that are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds and protect us against the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Great Faith

As we begin to study the varying expressions of faith in the lives of God’s people, we look at the two accounts in scripture of great faith, and learn common characteristics of each. What are the attributes of great faith that we can attempt to exhibit in our lives to live boldly in trusting God?
