Seeing the Wagons

Jacob lived under the sorrow and misery of believing a lie of Joseph’s death for 22 years. When he found out Joseph was actually alive, he didn’t believe it and his heart fainted. Then, when he saw the wagons, his heart actually revived. The difference between a fainting heart and a revived heart was belief in the validity of the good news report that Joseph was alive.

Book of Ephesians

From June 2024 to August 2025, Pastor David preached through the Book of Ephesians. In Ephesians, the Lord gave us the perfect balance of doctrine and practice. Based on all the spiritual blessings we have in Christ, and God electing, predestinating, redeeming, and regenerating his people, therefore – based on all that God has done for you – we ought to strive to walk worthy of our calling in godly living, in our marriages, in our families, and in every manner of life to honor the Lord that has saved us by his grace.

Prayers for Utterance of the Gospel

Prayer is the final, seventh component of the armor of God, and our lifeline to heaven to call for reinforcements from the captain of our salvation. Principally, Paul exhorts us to pray for the ministry and to pray for the advancement and growth of God’s kingdom. The kingdom of God should be at the forefront of our prayers, as we pray for God to grow his kingdom, according to his will.

Put on the Whole Armor of God

In our warfare against the wiles of the devil, it is vitally important that we put on the whole armor of God to protect us against Satan’s attacks. We consider together the 7 pieces of the armor of God that are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds and protect us against the fiery darts of the wicked one.

Gospel of John

From November 2022 to August 2025 on Wednesday nights, Pastor David preached through the Gospel of John. This unique gospel account declares for us the deity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and calls upon us to believe in Christ to lay hold of the fullness of the abundant life.

In introducing the Gospel of John, we also considered a topical survey of 1st John which presents similar major themes as John’s gospel. Sermons from 1st John can be found here.

The Incomprehensible Glory of Christ

In conclusion of the gospel of John, we see a statement that if everything that Jesus did just in his 3.5 year ministry would have been written down, the whole world could not contain it. We meditate together on just the glory and works of God that are truly beyond our comprehension and if they would be properly described, the world could not even contain a proper rendering of the glory of Christ!

Saved by Our Lively Hope

In this world, it is so easy to let the weight and cares of life bring down our spiritual gaze to view life under the sun as vanity and vexation of spirit. We have a lively, living hope in Christ because we have a living, resurrected Savior, but sometimes our hope gets dim and weak, or maybe even gone. If so, we need to pray for God to revive our lively hope to be able to conquer the challenges of life and soar with wings as eagles over the tribulations of this world!

Lovest Thou Me?

While waiting after Jesus’ resurrection, Peter leads a band of disciples to go fishing where Jesus blesses them with an amazing catch. Jesus then allows Peter to confess his love to him three times, to begin the healing process for the three denials just a few weeks before. While Peter is hesitant to commit to anything other than brotherly love, Jesus told him he would later fully give up his life for the cause of Christ.

Wrestling Against the Kingdom of Darkness

In our pursuit to walk worthy of the Lord’s calling, we have enemies of the devil and the kingdom of darkness that are constantly wrestling against us to try to get us to stumble and fall. Our true enemies are not flesh and blood, not men, but our true enemies are the devil and his influence in positions of authority and governments to persecute God’s people. However, Satan and his henchmen are defeated foes, and we can overcome them as well by putting on the whole armor of God.

Be Not Faithless, But Believing

In Jesus’ multiple appearances after his resurrection, some people could not see who Jesus was even though he was right in front of them, and others refused to believe by faith, they only wanted to believe by sight and touch. We are called by Jesus as well to believe in him, not by sight, but by faith, and we shall be blessed with a fullness of the abundant life if we walk by faith and not by sight.
