God’s people are exhorted towards a God-honoring marriage, for husbands to love their wives, and wives to submit to the loving authority of their husbands, based on the standard of Christ’s love for this bride, the church. God has given us the relationships of marriage and parenthood for us to learn more about his love for us as his bride. Also, our marriage preaches a gospel sermon to those around us, and the sobering question for us all is – what gospel does my marriage preach to others? The true gospel of unconditional love of Christ, or the false gospel of conditional love?
