A Ravished Heart

As we set our goals for a new year, our greatest pursuit should be to fall in love more fervently with Jesus Christ. If our hearts or minds have become cold or complacent, we need to pray for God to renew our love of Christ with all our heart, soul, and mind. We need to be excited to seek and pursue the voice of our beloved in worship, singing, prayer, preaching, fellowship, and personal devotion.

Less Than the Least of All Saints

Paul was chosen and called as the primary apostle of the Gentiles. Despite his burden for his kindred among the Jews, Paul sacrificed for the Gentiles and the hope of the gospel. He viewed himself as less than the least of all the saints of God. He showed the example that humility is the first prerequisite to be used in the kingdom of God. Those that walk in pride, the Lord is able to abase.

Providence of God

These messages were delivered by Pastor David on the Gospel of Grace Radio Broadcast from March to December 2024. We consider the providence of God, how God “sees before” the needs of his children and does everything necessary beforehand to ensure those needs are met at the exact time that they arise. As we consider the dynamic providence of God, we are led to worship and to declare along with scripture truly God’s judgments are unsearchable and his way past finding out!

Chosen to Love

The Lord has chosen out his people and ordained them to bring forth much fruit for God’s glory. The primary fruit we bring forth is loving one another. We were chosen by God to love one another. We are called to love one another the same way that Christ has loved us and God is glorified when we bring forth much fruit in fervently loving one another.

Meditate on the Names of Christ

As we consider the birth of Christ this month, we should meditate on the beautiful prophetic titles taken by Christ – Emanuel, Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace.

Why Did Christ Come?

Elder Paul Blair considers the statements from Jesus Christ about why he came into this world. Christ came into this world to save his people from their sins. He came to fulfill the law, not to destroy. He came to send judgment in the world. He came to bring division and a sword to have God’s people press into the kingdom of God.

The House & Temple of God

The Lord gives us a picture of the church as the house of God. The house of God is built on the chief cornerstone Jesus Christ and the foundation of the scriptures written by the apostles and prophets. The house is built up of lively stones unified together by the Holy Spirit. And then, inside the house, we are all vessels that we trust are vessels meet for the Master’s use, sanctified and honorable in the house of the Lord.

Abiding in the True Vine

Jesus Christ is the True Vine and his children are his branches. The Lord planted his vineyard to bring forth much fruit for his glory. The only way we can do anything or bring forth any fruit is by abiding in Christ. We abide in Christ by abiding in his word, by abiding in love, and abiding in his commandments.

The Work & Word of Reconciliation

Adam’s sin in the garden plunged mankind into a broken relationship with God with no ability to reconcile ourselves back to the Lord. Jesus Christ came to reconcile us back to fellowship with God by his death on the cross. Now, the veil of the temple has been opened up by Christ to where we have direct access to God. Christ finished the work of reconciling us back to God, and now he has given us the word of reconciliation in the gospel for us to know what Christ has already accomplished for us that we would live in peace of his finished work.

A New Creation

We consider another picture of regeneration in Eph. 2, the work of God in the soul as a new creation. When Christ comes to inhabit our soul in regeneration, we are remade into a new creature – old things are passed away and behold all things are made new. Our nature as a new spiritual creation, God has ordained for us to bring forth good works unto Christ’s glory as a new creature.
