We see consistently in Genesis 1 that all of creation was made fully mature, they bring forth after their own kind, and the evening and the morning were each six 24 hour days. The pinnacle of creation was man, made in the image of God. That is why man is higher and human life is valued above the animals because every person is made in the image of God with innate value from its Creator.
